Way before the Europeans start crossing the Atlantic, Europe has went through so much as far as the Renaissance, a time when Europe had created many inventions and ideas. It was such a beautiful thing. The only thing you might not know is what came before this event. The Black Death had occurred in Europe during the 1300s. It was able to kill 1/3 of the European population. The cause of this disease was through overseas trading. The boats brought to Europe had held mice/rats with the bubonic plague. The rats aren't exactly the cause of this nightmare, but a flea was. Some would wonder how that flea gave the rat the plague, but it's quite simple, really. The way the flea got the plague is unknown, but the ill flea had climbed onto a mouse and bit it. The boats had men waiting to see their families. The men have already been infected, but they didn't show any instant symptoms. You can already guess what happens next. Besides the men being infected, the rats venture outside of the ship to infect others. There was this absurd idea that putting spices around your house and in your pockets would help not get infected because of someone who was able to survive the plague after drinking water before sleeping. The only thing they don't know is that the person did not drink water, but something else. The spice idea did not work well since many still died. A lot of people started dying, which made nobles (people who owned land) desperate for workers. As they were dependent on their workers, the nobles didn't survive that long. That was when the plague started disappearing with mostly serfs surviving. The serfs were able to make a home out of the many abandoned buildings in the town and start a business out of their skills. That was the start of the Renaissance. That is all.
